Core shell nanoparticles combine a core material with a shell of another, for example gold on silver, iron oxide in silica or cadmium selenide in silica. The shell is used to protect the core, add a functional surface or combine magnetic, optical and catalytic properties in one particle. Typical uses are bio-imaging, magnetic separation, catalysis and sensing research. Request a quote for price and custom core or shell combinations. See also Quantum Dots.
